Prior to his death, the courageous German churchman Dietrich Bonhoeffer famously said: “Silence in the face of evil is evil itself. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.” To fortify the stranglehold of Germany’s anti-Semitic laws, Nazi law called for the death penalty to those found protecting or giving aid to the Jewish people. Rev.
